Small cafe and restaurant with all the good parts of being hip (vintage photographs, wooden tables, organic produce and Belle and Sebastian playing on repeat) and none of the bad ones. The girl who served us proved that you can be well-dressed AND efficient, the portions are for hungry people and the menu is extensive.

Seriously, why would you want to live anywhere else than North London?
I mean, you may have your reasons, but I'm so happy with my area. I love the Turkish cafés and this one is no exception. Here's why:
- A meze starter plate that you can share with 2 more people, and still get full, sets you back £6.
- You can sit outside and watch the gangsta/hipster/weirdos/Jamaican mums go by.
- The Efes beer comes in a funny, short and round bottle.
- Life is sweet.

Onestissimo caffé-ristorantino aperto dalla mattina, per tè, caffè e cioccolata, alla sera per piatti della cucina turca.
Abbiamo diviso in tre un piatto di antipasto misto che si può scegliere tra caldo o freddo, noi lo abbiamo scelto freddo. Hummus, tzaziki, cuscus al pomodoro, una simil-caponata, ceci conditi e pane, in porzioni di tutto rispetto, a £ 6.
Al contrario di alcuni ristoranti mediorientali, in quelli turchi si vendono bevande alcoliche quindi si può assaggiare la birra Efes, servida in una bottiglia bassa e tonda.

In una mattina d'agosto, una creatura dai lineamenti celestiali indugia dietro il bancone del Dalston Superstore e si gingilla con la macchina del caffé espresso.
Tutto, dal suo taglio di capelli James-Dean-rivisitato ai suoi occhi del colore di un'alba piovosa, indica che il suo habitat naturale è un luogo a metà tra la copertina di un LP degli Smiths e un annuncio CK del '94, circa.
Oppure, per le creature così, l'habitat naturale è il Dalston Superstore.Per noi che passiamo più tempo a lavorare e fare la spesa che a calcolare la circonferenza ideale per i nostri skinny jeans, il locale è una curiosità che può suscitare emozioni di vario genere, dal distaccato interesse sociologico alla pura irritazione.
Personalmente lo preferisco durante il giorno, quando si sta comodi sui divanetti e servono colazioni e hamburger più che decenti. Il loro yogurt con granola è zeppo di nocciole tostate, con a parte una ciotolina di marmellata fatta in casa.
Di sera la fila per entrare è costante, e una volta dentro ci si diverte ma sinceramente non così tanto.
La zona di Dalston è la risposta britannica alla scena indie newyorkese e, se trovandosi a Londra uno si spinge fino qui, vale la pena di osservare questo spaccato dell'universo hipster anche solo per scuotere la testa e maledire la gioventù dei giorni d'oggi.Pubblicato su: cisonostata.wordpress.com

A lot has been said about Dalston Superstore, but so far I don't think anyone has yet commented on their granola.
Cause, yeah, at daytime you can also have food here and the place is actually a nice spot for breakfast. Fresh juices, cakes, brunch stuff. I chose the aforementioned granola, a toasty, nutty energy bomb that comes with yoghurt and a remarkable homemade strawberry jam.
Yes, the bar staff are still the epitome of hipster and will always look so much better than you, but in the morning they seem able to even crack a smile.Pubblicato su: cisonostata.wordpress.com

When this bar opened on Kinglsland Road, where a Peruvian restaurant used to be, we asked the owner of the nearby off licence what were his thought about this bar and he said:
- "Oh, that's a quality bar. It's for intelligent people from Shoreditch."It looks like that's exactly what the new managers are hoping for, with the new décor and extensive wine list, vintage furniture and all. The best thing is the large window that's always open and makes you feel like you're watching a movie on a screen.
I only had a fresh fruit juice (yes, they have that too) but the cocktails ans the food looked interesting.
It's a 5 minutes walk from home so I may have the chance to try them. -

Al tuo wi-fi gratuito e al tuo vassoio di marmellate, ai tuoi wafer che aspettano solo di essere spalmati di quelle marmellate.
Rendiamo omaggio al tuo spazio minuscolo, agli occhiali degli hipsters che condividono il tavolo centrale, a tutte le copie del Guardian lasciate qui dai clienti.Da te, Tina, ci aspettano il profumo del caffé e il glitter sulle pareti. Stiamo arrivando.

From the outside, it doesn't look like a restaurant at all. For weeks I'd been sure that it was a Vietnamese old men's social club. A shut down Vietnamese old men's social club.
Turns out it's a restaurant, and quite a good one, able to feed a bunch of hungry people spending less than £14 each, wine included. Both the food and the service are efficient and no-nonsense.
Oh, and yes, the place looks like an old men's club from the inside as well. -

A quanto pare ho trovato sotto casa il mio pub ideale.
Birre: approvate, soprattutto la Bumble Beer al miele. Stuzzichini: approvati, soprattutto i wasabi peas. Cucina: provato solo l'hamburger (cos'altro vuoi da un pub?), ed è davvero sopra la media, fatto al momento con ingredienti di qualità.
Musica: approvatissima, l'ultima volta avevano messo i Belle & Sebastian.
Non vedo perché cercare altro. -

Probably the best value Turkish food in all of Kingsland Road, with extra points for coziness and homemade taste. I hope one day they'll make complimentary calendars with those family photos hanged on the walls.
