YO! Sushi è commerciale, rumoroso, troppo colorato. Fa niente. Questo punto vendita è tra i più divertenti, particolarmente zeppo di neon e colori acidi, con il kaiten che fa il giro dei tavoli oltre che del bancone.
Anche il cibo nei piattini sembra un giocattolo, con il sushi addobbato a festa, pallottoline con qualcosa di fritto e mini dessert decorativi.
Lo spettacolo si paga (£ 14 per 5 piattini di quelli che costano meno), quindi se cercate sushi buono ed economico lo troverete altrove (al Japan Centre, per esempio) ma se avete proprio bisogno di una pausa pranzo per evadere dalla realtà, il YO! "Pizza al taglio" is all over London now, ruining the plans of my friends back home who were dreaming of bringing it here to make money.
We went to Melito on its opening day so the only flavours left were the odd ones like fennel and finocchiona (kind of salami). This flavour doesn't come with any cheese or tomato sauce so I can testify that the thin and crispy dough tastes good by itself.Anyway, they also have interesting salads which I actually liked better than the pizza, I had the green beans with sauteéd peppers and hazelnuts and the boiled new potatoes with cheese and Parma ham.
I'll definitely be back to try the classic flavours and make up my mind about their pizza.

It's "pizza by the cut" (my literal translation), and it's pizza sold by weight in square pieces, which is a typical Roman street food.

Ho mangiato in questo Itsu un fantastiliardo di volte (il mio rapporto col sushi è come quello di Bukowski con l'alcol, è vero che si tratta di una dipendenza ma mi piace e mi ispira a scrivere. Perché dovrei smettere?).
Non lo avevo mai recensito perché in fondo è una catena di fast food.
Ma è un fast food in cui si trovano gli anacardi al miele e finocchio, lo snack degli dèi, da sgranocchiare con una limonata Thai al basilico. Oh anacardi al miele e finocchio... ogni vostra caloria, ogni vostro grammo di carboidrati vale la pena al 100%.

My shiny new haircut and colour (think Bridget Fonda in Single White Female) is from the shiny new Lisa Shepherd salon in Mortimer Street. Where that printers shop used to be.
It's not cheap, not exceptionally expensive for Central London either, but you do get a lot of attention (with complimentary hot and cold drinks), and a very good service.
Jamie did the cut and Sara did the colour, they were both lovely and I'm really happy with the results.
Oh, they have free wi-fi so you can check your emails and even work while getting your hair dyed. -

This was the cheap random pub with a TV we went to while waiting for our table at the Sanderson.
It's cheap.
It's random.
It has 2 TVs (though quite small ones, not ideal for watching the game when the pub is busy). -

Siamo arrivati al Sanderson pochi minuti prima del fischio d'inizio tra Inghilterra e Algeria e ci siamo accorti di alcuni dettagli:
1) non c'era la TV.
2) la nostra amica, quella che aveva scelto di vederci al Sanderson, avrebbe fatto più di un'ora di ritardo.
3) nessuno di noi poteva permettersi di bere al Sanderson per un'ora in più del previsto.Quindi, abbiamo trovato un pub generico nei dintorni, abbiamo ordinato pinte da £ 2 e guardato la partita finché non è atterrato l'aereo su cui la nostra amica veniva da Dubai (già).
Finalmente tornati al Sanderson, abbiamo preso posto al tavolo, circondati da bellissime e giovanissime ragazze dell'Europa dell'Est accompagnate da signori attempati (già).
Ma oh, se ne valeva la pena.
Lo champagne ghiacciato era perfetto, il servizio era perfetto e soprattutto le noccioline erano perfette.
Lo giuro, mai nella vita avevo assaggiato noccioline così buone. -

We arrived at the Sanderson minutes before the kick-off of England vs. Algeria and soon realised a few things:
1) there was no TV
2) our friend who had chosen the Sanderson as meeting place was going to be over one hour late
3) none of us could really afford one extra hour of drinking at the SandersonSo we headed to a nearby generic pub with cheap drinks and a TV until our posh friend made it there from the airport (coming from Dubai, she's that kind of person!). But when we finally sat down at a table, amongst the really young and good looking blond girls and their older, richer companions, it was worth the wait.
Perfectly chilled champagne, perfect service, perfect bowl of nuts. I swear those were the best tasting nuts I've ever had. -

Avviso: questa è un'opinione della serie "e chissene". Non è un gran posto da conoscere, ma gli sono troppo affezionata per non recensirlo.
All'angolo tra Regent Street e Great Castle Street c'è un chiosco che si chiama Sweet Sensations e, nonostante il nome da sexy shop, vende dolciumi, bibite e sigarette.
Due porte più in là c'è l'ufficio di Qype quindi se volete farci la posta, aspettate presso Sweet Sensations per un'oretta o due. Inevitabilmente qualcuno scenderà.Pete, il personaggio dietro il bancone, ha un cane di pelouche con il quale "abbaia" alle ragazze e un cartello che dice "non chiedetemi indicazioni stradali a meno che sia per uno di questi posti:" e segue una lista di 4 punti turistici, uno dei quali è Topshop, il negozio alle sue spalle.
Altro che Big Ben, venite tutti a vedere Sweet Sensations.

Be brave, they say, go for new experiences, try something you've never done before.
Right, but make sure it's illegal drugs, not weird food. I can't tell if it was properly made or not because I hadn't tried Filipino cuisine before, but it didn't look much carefully prepared to me.
Looked like random stuff tossed together.The jasmine tea was made with a single bag swimming in a teapot the size of a bucket so it didn't taste much, maybe to compensate for the dish which tasted too much of too many things.

Cibo libanese abbastanza leggero ed economico, buona opzione per un pranzo veloce, ma bisogna andare a mangiare fuori perché non ci sono posti a sedere.
