Innenstadt Bergen - Bergen

Harald Haarfagresgate 35, N-5007 Bergen

31.01.2010

Andateci!

The Baked Potato Shop - Edinburgh

56 Cockburn Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 1PB

28.12.2008

Chocolate Soup - Edinburgh

2 Hunter Square, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 1QW

28.12.2008

IKEA EXPO - Bemerode

Straße der Nationen 10, 30539 Hannover

28.12.2008

This IKEA will be my target destination for an adventure one day - buy a large piece of furniture and get it home on public transport! Not far from the IKEA, there is the end stop of one of Hannover’s subway lines - how fantastic would it be to transport several long boxes of BILLY back underneath the streets of Hannover :D ?

Dreaming aside, this is one of the newest IKEAs in Germany, and it is built to match all standards. Lots and lots and lots of parking space directly underneath the store, easy access, all the food and service one is used to from other IKEAs, and a large and spacious showcase with anyone one could desire from the Swedish company. Definitely my choice over the other IKEA in Hannover!

China Restaurant Panda - Bothfeld

Sutelstrasse 46, 30659 Hannover

28.12.2008

Wonderful Chinese restaurant - reasonably authentic food, very friendly service, and good prices. There is a buffet available for dinner, with many fresh ingredients to choose from. I believe you can even pick your own stir-fry ingredients that will be made for you afterwards. Over Christmas time they also showered customers with presents - a calendar, small box of tea, and the customary sip of plum wine when leaving! And, much to my pleasure, there were NO fortune cookies :) !

Hauptbahnhof Bremen - Findorff

Willy-Brandt-Platz 1, Bremen

07.12.2008 (aggiornata il 09.12.2008)

A lot is being said about the train station in the German reviews, much more than I can summarise here now, and much more than I would have known from my few visits to this city and its train station! If you are interested in train stations, take a little bit of time to read up on this one, and take your time wandering about in it. A very spacious, bright and clean train station, it is the main transport hub into town for visitors and locals, with lots and lots of passengers passing through the station every day. Bremen has a fascinating history as a trade town, and its rail connections certainly helped to build that reputation!

There is also a lot to discover in the vicinity of the train station, including the historic old town centre not very far away. If you have a little bit of time here, make sure you have a look around! There should be maps in the tourist office in the train station.

Flughafen Bremen GmbH - Bremen

Flughafenallee 10, 28199 Bremen

07.12.2008

Comfortable small-scale airport that many travellers will mainly know for the Ryanair flights going from here to many international destinations! In fact, Ryanair occupies its own little terminal which is neither very nice nor very convenient, but the remainder of the airport is friendly, spacious and very clean. Getting to the airport is easy with good direction signs and ample of short-term parking spaces available right in front of the airport doors. I believe public transport also goes to and from the airport frequently. I certainly look forward to flying from here again soon!

University Of St.Andrews Students Association - St. Andrews

2 St Marys Place, St. Andrews, Scotland KY16 9UZ

07.12.2008

Unfortunately, as far as Social Clubs go, this one may be a little limited, since it is really only for current and former students of the University of St Andrews. For them it provides some fantastic services, though. Lots of student-run societies receive money from the Students’ Association, support, can book rooms in their building and much more. Furthermore, the Students’ Association does much for student representation and ensures that student voices are heard in top meetings of the university administration. All students are members of it, by default.
